A European doctoral network developing advanced grating-waveguide structures for high-power laser systems.

TRADES is a Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network bringing together eight beneficiaries and 13 associated partners across Europe to train 15 doctoral researchers in advanced dispersion-engineered grating-waveguide structures for high-power laser applications.
The project spans design, fabrication, characterization, implementation, and sustainability, while providing interdisciplinary training in innovation, entrepreneurship, and photonics technologies.
Developing robust grating-waveguide structures with the optical performance required for demanding laser applications.
Combining lithography, printing, coating, and etching technologies to realise precise photonic components.
Measuring efficiency, tolerance, damage resistance, and dispersion under realistic operating conditions.
Bringing the structures into high-power laser systems while training the researchers behind the technology.
